First, Id like to rectify what Adorned Aesthetics wrote: this is NOT made in China but in JAPAN. I did my research before buying the lens, and writing this review! Its 100% Japanese technology and all parts are manufactured in Japan. And the quality of the skin analysis is pretty accurate to me. Also, I dont know where she saw "the ploy of cosmetics companies to get their hands all over you" because there is no such evidence. IMO they are quite impartial.
For those who can read Japanese, try to set your phone language settings to Japanese, and you will be able to get in-app counseling by a certified BA who will give you a more in depth analysis of your skin, and personalized advice on how to care for your skin. I tried it, and its pretty cool.
I admit, the cosmetic information is still too little, and mostly written in Japanese, so that is something I would definitely want them to work on.
It takes some skill to take a clear picture of your skin, but the results are accurate. I researched the company, and they are not some fluke. Their analysis is based on years of research.
There is also a chat room where users can discuss skin care and make up, which sounds fun.
Personally, I use it to check my skin care regimen. When I start using new products, I take before and after pics and check how my skin has progressed (or worsened in some cases) after 2 weeks or 1 month.
Again, IMO its a pretty nifty app, and I can only hope they will improve their English service along with the Japanese version.
